Welcome to Special Needs Ohio. My name is Rob Gorski, and you may know me from The Autism Dad blog and podcast. Both can be found here. For over a decade, I’ve been a public figure in the autism and special needs community, where I share my experience as a Dad raising three autistic kids. I’ve built a highly respected platform that helps me to provide information, connections, comfort, community, and support to parents all over the world. I love what I do, and I’m so grateful to be in a position to do this.

Recently, I have been helping my oldest transition to adulthood. We’re navigating our local Developmental Disability services, adult job training, and a seemingly endless stream of evaluations, all to help my son build a life of his own.
This process has shown us just how difficult this journey can be. Even with my two decades of special needs parenting, it’s an arduous journey. We also knew that we were in a unique position to help other families on this same path. Thus, Special Needs Ohio was born.
Special Needs Ohio exists to help families across the great state of Ohio. We’re here to provide education, insights, inspiration, hope, and a sense of community, as well as connections to services, support, and resources via this site and our accompanying podcast.
Going forward, you can expect to find tons of valuable information about people, places, agencies, and organizations that exist to support families, yours and mine. On our podcast, you can listen to interviews that educate, inspire, and provide hope, direction, and a connection to a fantastic community you might not even know is all around you.
They say it takes a village, and that’s especially true for special needs families. Special Needs Ohio wants to be part of your village. So welcome to the family, and we look forward to connecting.
